Acne Medication
Prescription
acne medication is generally used for moderate to severe
cases of Acne. To obtain a prescription for acne medication
you must visit a doctor or a dermatologist who will then write
you up a prescription. The most popular prescription drugs for
acne are as follows : Accutane, the Tetracycline family (Minocycline -> Doxycyline -> Tetracycline)
and Bactrim. (Bactrim and the Tetracycline family are both
antibiotics).
Accutane and
Minocycline are by far the most popular prescription acne
medications. While both usually provide substantial
results the side effects and reverse effects raise a big red
flag. Accutane almost always causes dryness of the face and
lips and here is a list of some other common side effects: Accutane
can cause birth defects, premature births, serious mental
health problems, serious brain problems, abdomen (stomach
area) problems, bone and muscle problems, hearing problems,
vision problems, lipid (fats ad cholesterol problems and
allergic reactions.
Minocycline
and Bactrim are antibiotics and provide some users with
positive results, However, the longer you are on an antibiotic, the less effective it becomes. This is because the acne-causing bacteria becomes immune to the antibiotic by mutating into “super bacteria,” making your acne worse and possibly untreatable.
